What would an inheritance advance cost?
Enter the figures from a quote to see roughly what you'd repay, and how the cost changes if the estate takes longer to pay out.
Illustrative only This is a simple model, not a quote or advice. Real agreements can work out interest differently, for example daily, on different balances, or with caps and minimum charges. The figures below are example inputs, not any provider's prices, so replace them with the figures from your own quote. Always ask the provider for the total amount repayable.
How the calculation works
- Simple interest: balance = starting balance × (1 + monthly rate × months).
- Compound (monthly): balance = starting balance × (1 + monthly rate)months.
- If you tick "fee is added to the loan", interest is worked out on the advance plus the fee. If you don't, the fee is added once at the end.
- A yearly rate is divided by 12 to get a monthly rate.
- The cap stops interest building after that many months, which some providers publish.
Compare what providers publish on the comparison page, and read what to ask before taking an advance.
